Definition (Uniformly Bounded)

A collection $\mathscr{F}$ of functions on a set $X$ into $\mathbb{R}$ is called uniformly bounded iff $$\sup\{ |f (x)|: f \in \mathscr{F}, x \in X \} < \infty.$$
